I've been meaning to get to this for a long time now. posted a contest on the ToT forums quite a while back and I was psyched to see part of it involved drawing one of her characters in historical costumes. After much debate, I decided that her character Lisa would probably fare well in some sort of Rococo dress. XD
After I started this, a string of bad luck occurred to my art supplies: my pen ran out of ink halfway through, my eraser decided to stop working and instead drag pencil around the piece, and then, when all that was sorted out by a trip to the art store, my blending marker ran dry...which is why all the streaks, I apologize.
...and then my scanner ate the colours. It's much more aesthetically pleasing in person, I swear.

Thankyou~ My scanner seems to hate colours, they got a little bleached in the transition. Then again, maybe it works out, since they seemed to love their pastels back then. XD
Don't you just love scanners? *sarcasm* I feel your pain on that one.
Detail=<3. I'm going to be useless and just say wow. o.O You really did pay attention to every little nook and cranny. I'm impressed with the drawing itself and the colors you chose. They may not be as vibrant here as they are in person, but I'm still lovin' them. I really like the yellow...but I suck at yellow, so I'm jealous of your pretty yellow. It's cool that you added little things/leaves/petals in the background; I think it adds to this piece. And the border is wonderful. It's good that you didn't encircle the woman completely in it; it just seems more interesting like this. :3
I want that dress....and I hate dresses. *plays with the pretty design*

The colour was done with Prismacolor Markers. When blended properly (which I did not do, since my blender died), they often look like watercolour paint.
I couldn't resist, even if history books say that she did not, in fact, say anything of the sort. XD
The yellow (as well as the pale pink and dark violet) is one of my few Copics. It lays down very nicely, and I really couldn't live without it, especially since my Prismacolour yellows are all fairly garish. :/
I spent a lot more time with the details on this than I typically do. Testing my endurance, I think. If you had asked me a year ago if I could come up with an image like this, I probably would have fallen off my chair laughing. Lotus=not a patient person.
...and yes. Rococo dresses are some of the most interesting. I can't say I've seen many that I haven't wanted to tear off their models and shove myself into. XD
